The Hodgson Law Firm LLC, Williams Dirks Dameron LLC, and the Employee Rights Law Firm have filed a lawsuit against MetLife for failing to pay insurance
underwriters overtime compensation in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act
The case alleges that MetLife classifies insurance underwriters as exempt employees
under the FLSA, meaning that they are not eligible to receive overtime
compensation. The case alleges that MetLife’s classification of insurance
underwriters is wrong, and that the company should pay them overtime.
The lawsuit seeks unpaid overtime compensation on behalf insurance underwriters who worked for MetLife at any of its locations in the United States between December 10, 2011 and the present.
Metlife has not had an opportunity to respond to the allegations contained in the lawsuit, and no court has made any determination concerning the claims in the lawsuit.
